I'm annoyed. I've seen this colleague getting calls from home few times a day. It's his wife. It seems like whatever going on at home can't be solved by the wife so she had to consult to him every time.

I'm annoyed because people talking on phone is noisy. This is the office. I demand peacefulness.

I've seen it alot here, people pay little respect to other people's wellbeing. We conversing loud in public. Making calls in bus. Watching youtube without headphones. It seems like there's no other people around. You have no idea how noise affect other people.

Unapproved sound annoys. Kalveram believes that  annoyance originates from acoustical signals which are not compatible with, or which disturb, these psychological functions (Leventhal, 2004:61). In particular, disturbance of current activities is a primary effect of noise exposure, producing a potential loss of fitness in the subject with respect to those behavior patterns which permit coping with changes in the environment.

Annoyance brings feelings of disturbance, aggravation, dissatisfaction, concern, bother, displeasure, harassment, irritation, nuisance, vexation, exasperation, discomfort, uneasiness, distress, hate etc, some of which combine to produce the adverse reaction (Leventhal, 2004:60). It explains my rambling, ha? I also equipped myself with Sennheiser's headphone. Not only to avoid intense noise, but also as a sign that their lousiness disturb me. But, that doesn't work.

Inability to detect that other people is annoyed by our behavior is another kind of disorder. We call it selfish. But, if more severe symptoms appear, it can turn into Antisocial Personality Disorder in DSM. Remember when Pritchard (1837, Nolen-Hoeksema,2007:435) used the term moral insanity to describe people with little self control and no concern for the rights of others. Don't you think these people who ignore my annoyance can be classified into one?
