I had good sleep and sweat a lot. This is good. My head feels a bit lighter, unlike the last Saturday when I was shivering all night. I even took a nap in the office, at work hour. It’s something I never do in my normal day. I had some panadol (the only flu medicine I have at home) and my fever’s decreasing the next day, although the dizzy pain remains in my head till the next week. Plus, I got myself old-people-sound cough. You know, the cough that occurs insistently. Yeah, it’s shameful. I tried few things to mend this sickness:
1. Hot water. They say it ease your throat.
2. Honey and ketchup. It’s my mom’s recipe and it tastes weird.
3. Honey and lime. Causing diarrhea.
4. Black cough medicine. Only stop cough for 30 minutes.
This cough kept me awake at night. Also when I insisted to watch Hanabi, I couldn’t stop coughing. Sorry, other cinema viewers.
I don’t usually suffer from long term cough. I cough, but it’s just a regular cough. It never bring headache or stiff neck. This cough is annoying. But, why does every cough killing method didn’t work? I wonder why.
One day, i decided to take my asthma pill, because my chest started feeling heavy. Surprisingly, as the  medicine pressed my heart, it also fix my throat. It doesn’t stop the cough entirely, but it allowed my head to heal. Now I’m still coughing some, but no headache or bad muscle. It’s just the cough.
So, this is why all my effort turned wasted. I didn’t attack the source of the pain, but just beat the symptoms. Isn’t it what happen to a lot of our daily life? Instead of figuring the core problem, we beat around the bush, making the problem worse.
