I totally forgot. It was few years ago when I was still in college that I asked AmiAmi or Poteji to go to planetarium. We never did. Suddenly, I had this inspiration on Thursday. I've been in vacation for a week, it's about to get boring.

Planetarium Jakarta is located in Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM). I visited TIM before, it's my college friends' favorite when we had reunion. I even passed the spot couple of times. But, I've never go there from Cikini Station, the nearest train station. Google Maps indicated 12 minutes of walking to reach the destination. Since the avenue is set to be one-way street (it comes toward the station, instead of from it), so I decide to try walking.

It was a beautiful bright Sunday morning. There are few people sitting by food stands along the street, but it's far from crowded. I come with my cousin. It's really not so far and we don't have to make any turn. It's straight from the station.

TIM is a cultural center located in Central Jakarta. Built next to it is the Jakarta Institute of Art, so TIM basically the field practice for those artists. The complex consists of few arcades: district library, planetarium, cinema, exhibition houses, art studios, art hall, galleries and auditorium. Also a fireman post. The Art Hall is called Graha Bhakti Budaya, which has been used to hold national film festival award ceremonies.

By the time I got there, planetarium is still closed. It has been closed since Eid due to broken projector. So, I decide to check other venues. Some groups of dancer are practicing on the open veranda. There's also young people playing traditional instruments. A Fine Art exhibition is having the final day, located in front of the art hall. Hundreds of painting are showed and I think I can't take pictures. One of the painting that caught my attention is bamboo painting which look so realistic, even to the bokeh. Subhanallah. A pencil drawer called Toni Hariyanto also participating in this exhibition and his works are awesome.

I stop at cinema to watch Starwars before going home. Google was wrong. The walking to station is less than 12 minutes. XD
