Rejected!
I've been waiting for today, the day to donate blood. My office usually holds this event three times a year, but this year is kinda odd. Today is the second blood donation for the whole year. Huh. What have they done for the past 6 months? We need to spare our blood every 3 or 4 months, right?
Maa, ii ka.
I was so excited and got there early with 2 friends. But, when they checked my blood, the officer said I can't donate today because I have low hemoglobin. WTH?
Here's what medicine.net says about hemoglobin:
Hemoglobin is the protein molecule in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and returns carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs. Hemoglobin is usually measured as a part of the complete blood count (CBC) test from a blood sample. The normal range for Adult women is 12 to 16 gm/dL.
According to CBC, mine has 12 gm/dL which means the hemoglobin is good, but only enough for me. It's not enough to be transferred in blood donation.
Ugh.
Ah. this needs a Facebook status. It's been so long since I write status in Facebook. I hope this one is okay. I just hate making stupid swaying status.
