Quick look at Indonesia Craft Exhibition
official site: crafina
Do you know that Indonesia’s craft is not only batik? No? Then you definitely need to visit craft exhibition in JCC today. There are some craft exhibition events in a year, but the one I visited yesterday is called CRAFINA. It’s starts from October 8 and will be closed on October 11.
They gather craftmen from across archipelago to show their local exotic goods. Here we can find fabrics, clothes, food, and any cute accessories. Did I say cute? Well, when I stood on a fabrics stand, some japanese tourists on next stand kept saying “kawai, kawai, demo, takai” (“Cute, cute, but expensive). lol
Frankly speaking, most of the stuffs here are hand-made. Therefore, if you compare to mass-produce work, it’s much more expensive. But, try to check each product, it’s much cheaper than the exact good sold outside the exhibition.
Batik are everywhere, but every province brings their own pattern. The pattern shows their unique culture. Take Pekalongan Batik (which I’m guiltily bought) for example. XD
Some other stands mix the traditional work in modern goods. I’m sure you’ll be happy coming here.
