There's something magical about this city that makes me missing it so much. The last time I came was about 3 years ago and I had chance to visit my university. However, this time is really quick journey. Following my bosses, I had only 2 days in this hot city.
The Surabaya I knew is changing. It has toll, which is not really necessary because less traffic here. I remember most Surabaya's roads are one way, so it takes long detour to get across the street. So, the toll is not really make any different. But, hey, Surabaya people know better.

It only takes 20 minutes from the airport (funny when they call it "Juanda International Airport of Surabaya in Sidoarjo", tho) to Shangri-La hotel. It's located in Darmo street, the area I hardly visited around my student days. It's far from Airlangga University.

The hotel looks like business building from the street, but the interior is quite fancy. Lots of flower and carved furnitures in the lobby. My superior room is decorated in pastel tones. Not glamorous, though. It's not a budget hotel, of course. Although it's nothing new, but the room is comfy.

The reception officer welcomed us in front of the hotel and led to the room. All the paper work is done in the room, so it cut extra time waiting in the lobby. Good job, Shangri-La Surabaya!

The next day, my bosses had appointment with the governor (which apparently unable to attend, but the vice governor is cheerfully dealing with us). I have never enter East Java's Governor's Office before, but I remember having demonstration here when I was still a student. lol

It actually an old building with clean garden. The vice governor received us in the biggest hall, along with other guests. After 2 hours talk, we should head to the airport. Huff, what a tight schedule.
