Hi, just got back from Malang and finally stepped on Mount Bromo. No, no, not climbing like mount climbers, I’m not that fit. There're a lot of travel organizers who can help commoner like me to reach the top—at least high enough to enjoy the sunrise. I found one in traveloka for IDR288k. It’s very cheap, right?

The organizer picked me, kk and Shanti at 23.45 to meet the other 3 participants. Alhamdulillah, they are two women with a little girl. Grouping with women somehow makes us a bit of relief. We took a jeep to climb up. It was so dark we didn’t catch glimpse of the bumpy road. It’s a bit of adventure. I even jumped from my seat. XD
Although the road was narrow, our ride runs fast. We barely meet any vehicles from the opposite. Everyone was all headed up. We arrived early. It was only 4AM, so the driver parked a bit closer to the gate. We only needed 5 minutes to walk from the gate to the sunrise point at Puncak Penanjakan.

But, before that, I need to stop by the toilet. It’s a long drive and very chill. I tried my best to hang on. Every time we passed a toilet, we stopped by. XD. The sunrise point we’re headed was located at 2700 above sea level. You can imagine the temperature, right? As someone with asthma, I shouldn’t get myself into trouble. Cold weather is my nemesis. I was worried, but I stacked myself close to my friend when we’re waiting for sunrise. We borrowed extra jackets to hold the cold air. It’s still cold, anyway. But, the crowd soon turned bigger and bigger. There were about hundreds of people on that point waiting for the new sun. When it finally rose, I couldn’t take a picture (okay, part of it, because I didn’t bring my Sony and I’m not good at dark photography with phone). Hands were everywhere, reaching for the best spot to capture the sunrise.

It’s funny. We can see the sunrise from everywhere, so what makes this very special? We’re too busy taking a picture that we barely enjoy the sunrise itself. Not taking the picture doesn't make me better than them, thou. I just feel that enjoying the scenery by naked eyes also satisfying. It feels like releasing myself from the evil circle of showing off in social media.

Please, even though I barely work hard to make beautiful feed, I never thought of making people jealous. I post what I feel, not what I want people to like. Their likings are just bonus, as well as their jealousy. I just want my social media to please my eyes.

However, Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is set to please social media addicts. Not only the sunrise point, the Pasir Berbisik spot, also Teletubbies hills, are all designed to let visitors take a thousand pictures.

I must say something about this Pasir Berbisik (whispering sand). It's a large area where all you can see is sand, and mountains circling it. The name derived from the 2001 movie's title about a poor girl living there. It's a place far from civilization. No convenience store, sometimes I lost my phone signal, and they have to buy water for the toilet. The girl could only turn to the sand as if it was whispering to her. Such a romantic title with a touchy story.

We actually passed the place at night. Although pretty beautiful in the morning, I just realize that running on sand is dangerous. Sometimes it's bumpy and your jeep can be stuck in sand hole. Thank God our driver was experienced. I worried about the visitors who went with a motorcycle. Such adventurous kids.

Summary, this trip is quite easy, even my mom went there last year. It's cheap and must be done in a group!
