We gotta get back to beautiful
Happy woman's international day. It seems like people celebrating it by taking action to the street, asking for attention. In various culture, woman has always been the second citizen. They keep being repressed and not "given" their rights. They're being violated physically and mentally because they're weak and naive. Numerous of reports and papers show the misery of being woman, leading the world to believe that woman is unfortunate and needs to be saved.
But, is that really the truth?
We've been feeding popular culture portraying woman as a damsel in distress. Woman needs man to rescue her. It might be right hundred years ago, but today...seriously? More and more women are capable of making their ends meet. They have more fighting spirit than man, they learn better, and they struggle persistently. I find a woman who plays her card as fragile princess is a very old fashion one. Yes, she might get attention, but she won't get respect.

The rising number of violence against women is usually the chart feminists use to show how women are mistreated. But, I see different way. When she reports, she fights back. It's not easy to announce to the world that she's been assaulted. It's not easy to claim that she's been robbed her rights. Woman takes a lot of things to the heart, she must have think thousands times before revealing her misfortune.
My fellow researcher mentioned West Sumatra as one the province with a lot of female's sexual assaults case. It's weird, she said, considering that Minangkabau people live by matrilinealistic. Woman should be the ruler, and man should obey. Well, that's not what it means there. The culture doesn't put woman as authority. Woman is given rights to own assets which will be managed by her man. But, it doesn't mean woman takes man as slave. I think feminists dig it too shallow. By having rights to every property, it means woman will never have to be homeless. She will always have things to rely on, so she can stand on her own. On the other hand, since man can't own family property, he has more free spirit. He can easily leave home to another land (we call it "merantau").
I understand that most woman doesn't have ability to protect herself. Earlier I read about local women at work being harassed by her male coworker by saying imprudent words. It happens everywhere, if you ask me. The females in the stories find it difficult after they reprimand those men they get to be called boorish. Oh, my. If being bo as frightening as being assaulted, then we know who's the moron here.

I'm millennial, single, and female. I'm an adult and I'm not hunger for people's in my solo ride. If you like me, you can talk to me. If I like you, I may accompany you. If you don't like me, stay away from me and I won't even think about you. If I don't like you, I will stay away from you.
It's not what people think that makes us happy. It's what we think that create our smile everyday. They can complain, talking behind our back. That's just how they show how much we meant to their life, but is shouldn't be vise versa. Fans are always bigger number than the star, right?
